For some people, becoming a diabetic would be a major event in their life. For me, not as big a deal as you might think. My first though on hearing the diagnosis was " Oh great, more complexity in my life."
I already have a basket, that is almost full, of life challenges. Now with diabetes, my basket is a bit heavier. :-(
I am a 68 year old male. That alone is a challenge. I pee 4 times a night. My hands hurt every morning. I can't do simple tasks, that didn't even require thought 5 years ago.
I had cataracts and lens replacement in both eyes.
Four years ago I got AngioSarcoma. A very fast spreading type of cancer. It started in my lower left leg. Sixteen weeks of chemotherapy helped slow it down.
They removed the cancer surgically, by removing my left leg above the knee.
I pretty much live in a wheelchair, and am learning to walk with a prosthetic leg.
And now I am a Type 1 diabetic.
This blog will document my journey through the diabetic landscape.
I will use this blog as a personal diary, and reminder of certain things that I may want to review at a later date. If it happens to help others, then that is an added bonus.
I blogged about my 35 years of adventures as a pilot in Africa.

Now with diabetes, I loose a bit more, of the remaining joys of life.
